Stuck In Overwhelm Mode? Here’s help

2018 has officially kicked my a*s!

With the flu making its way around all five of us, trips to the ER, visits to the doc, migraines, forgotten birthday (oh sorry husband!) plus the daily oh shit schedules from school, work, and errands, and on top of all of that, MOVING 2 hours away!?

UGH Talk about stress!

How about you? ;)

Do you get caught up in the “shoulds” or how things are supposed to be, that you rarely take the time to see just how far you’ve come? Like it’s just not enough?

What happens if we stop to actually see how much we do?

Check this out (and this doesn’t even include all the daily minutia of butts, teeth, laundry, lunches, and on and on).

Since my hubby’s big car accident I’ve ~

  • Subscribed to Headspace and have meditated over 26 hours! Yes. From someone who had never meditated before. I’ve committed to doing just 10 mins a day.
  • Created a 10 day cleanse called Kickstart entirely on my own (recipes, tips, tricks, meal plans, shopping lists) to feel good in your body. I hired a nutritionist to make sure the nutrition was on point and a graphic designer to make it beautiful. Boom.
  • Created an online support group and petition to end toxic pesticides on school grounds. AND WON! We got rid of Roundup in our entire school district. This is huge.
  • Bought almost everything to build our dream home (all repurposed) – fixtures, metal, concrete, furniture, etc. Thanks, Craigslist & Facebook Marketplace.
  • Brought my three boys to a Women’s March in January. Because it’s important for me to raise three incredibly kind, respectful, and tolerant human beings.

I’m not trying to toot my own horn here.

You see, deep down, I struggle with insecurity.

I often feel a lack of worth.

A sense of overwhelming.

A lack of confidence that sits deep inside.

And takes over when things are unsettled, uncertain, or “off.”

Do you ever feel this way?

If so, I hear you. I see you. I feel you. 100%.

I think we’re pressured in our culture to do, do, do. Doing more. Cleaning more. Driving more. Scheduling more.

But, then, our hearts and souls are empty because we kind of forgot about the stuff deep down. Because it’s selfish to ask for space or time. Right?

We can rest when the house is perfect.

The kids are perfect.

The family is perfect.

And everything is perfect. 

All that shit doesn’t matter. 

No one tells us it’s okay to stop. To breathe.

To stop and cry.

To stop and laugh.

To stop and pause.

To stop doing. More being.

So, I’m here to tell you – You ARE ENOUGH.

You don’t need permission to stop. From anyone.

To take a break.

To call a friend.

To leave the house a mess.

You’re a brilliant, beautiful soul that is so much more than cleaning, organizing, planning, stressing, and doing 1000 things we don’t want to be doing.

You are here for a reason. To do good in the world. To raise amazing people. To have fun. To experience joy and laughter and love.

But you have to remember, you can’t do anything for anyone else unless your needs are taken care of.

So, sit quietly and ask yourself…

What do you truly need? Deep down inside?

To fill your cup. To fill your heart. To fill your soul. And your calling. 

It’s a beautiful time to be a woman right now.

I invite you to take some time for yourself today. And every day.

Even 10 minutes.

A bath. A phone call. A walk. A dance. A book.

To get back to yourself.

To get back to your body.

To get back home.

I hope today is filled with lots of love, laughter, peace, and gratitude.

I appreciate you so much and I’m super sorry it’s been so many weeks since I’ve been in touch. I’ve been struggling with a lot from all the changes going on in my life.

But, you’ve been on my mind and I’ve missed you. A lot.
